Turning a Centennial Milestone into a National Experience
A 100th anniversary is more than a date on the calendar. For IPIC, it represented a century of advocacy, community, and leadership within Canada’s intellectual property profession. The challenge was creating a way for members, many of whom could not attend in-person celebrations, to still participate in the centennial spirit.
The solution was a custom GearUp store designed specifically for IPIC’s milestone year.
Through the store, members could order branded centennial apparel that allowed them to visibly show their pride in being part of IPIC’s history. From coast to coast, members were able to wear the centennial logo and feel connected to the celebration, regardless of their location.
Apparel That Connected a Community
The GearUp store featured a curated selection of apparel branded with IPIC’s centennial identity. Members had the flexibility to choose the styles and sizes that suited them, while IPIC avoided the complexity of ordering, storing, and shipping inventory.
Every order was produced on demand and shipped directly to members by the GearUp team. This meant:
No inventory management for IPIC
No manual order handling
No shipping logistics to coordinate
A seamless experience for members across Canada
Making Participation Easy for Everyone
Because the store was fully managed by GearUp, IPIC’s team could simply share the store link with members and let the platform do the rest. Members placed their own orders, paid securely online, and received their apparel at their doorstep.
This removed administrative burden from the IPIC team while creating an inclusive way for members to participate in the centennial celebrations.
Real Results from Coast to Coast
The response from members was strong. Over the course of the campaign, the GearUp team processed and delivered more than 90 orders to IPIC members across Canada.
For a professional association with a geographically distributed membership, this demonstrated how a GearUp store can turn a milestone celebration into a shared, national experience.
A Model for Milestones, Conferences, and Member Engagement
IPIC’s centennial store is a strong example of how organizations can use GearUp not just for merchandise, but for engagement.
Whether it’s a milestone anniversary, annual conference, member recognition initiative, or internal campaign, a custom GearUp store allows organizations to:
Create branded merchandise without inventory risk
Enable participation from members anywhere
Reduce administrative workload
Strengthen community connection through shared identity
Bringing Your Community Into the Moment
